The South German specialist for heavy-duty transport equipment, Pfedelbach-based world-renown Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik GmbH today forms part of Transporter Industrie International GmbH (TTI) of Heilbronn, which is 100% controlled by industrialist family of Senator h.c. Otto Rettenmaier, Heilbronn.
Scheuerle owns 100% of the Italian manufacturer Capperi S.p.A. of Ossona near Milan, while French manufacturer Nicolas Industrie S.A. of Champs-surYonne like Scheuerle are sister companies with separated own product ranges focusing on respected markets and are controlled by TII Holding.
Scheuerle Italia and Capperi S.p.A. are fully-owned daughter companies of the German Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik GmbH, which commercially and technically guides Capperi by continuous modernising with the result of an expansion of Capperi ‘s position on Italian and Spanish markets. Another milestone in its attempt of global expansion was laid by arranging an alliance and cooperation with world-renouned owned Dutch specialist Royal Nooteboom Trailers B.V. based in Wijchen, Netherlands. Thereby a complete & harmonised product range of highest quality has been attained, whereas focal points have been assigned individually.
Versatile production programme of Scheuerle includes knuckle-steered semi-trailers and semi-low bed trailers with air suspension and hydraulic suspension as well as platform trailer combinations with hydraulically supported pendulum axles. A new development for medium heavy-duty range are knuckle-steered semi-trailers of the "Inter Trailer" series with hydraulic axle support and single telescopic adjustment in 6, 7, and 8-axle design. The programme of road transport equipment of high payload capacity range is dominated by platform trailers of "Euro Combi" and "Inter Combi" series in various designs, equipped with hydraulically supported and all-wheel steered pendulum axles. These platform trailers are suitable for modular combinations.
Within this product range Scheuerle recently introduced a new development: Equipped with drive axles and a power pack unit the "Inter Combi" platform trailer becomes independent from heavy tractors. This arrangement with hydrostatic system and PPU enables the trailers driving self-sustained at low speeds up to 5 km/h in loaded condition. A great advantage in case of limited space, in-plant transportation and ro-ro terminal operations. With this equipment the "Inter Combi’ attains an admissible gross weight of 216 tons, with a payload capacity of 186 tons. For the 6 axles an admissible axle load of 36 tons is noted. Special technical advantage is that drive axles easily can be disconnected to be used as running axles under full load and at high speeds following the principle of "free wheel".
Well-known module transporters with hydrostatic self propulsion and electronically controlled multidirectional steering are the most outstanding transporters for highest payload capacities. At nearly unlimited combination and extension possibilities configurations of these module transporters are realisable for payloads of even exceeding 15,000 tons. World’s largest configuration so far has been in operation for a large-size module of 13,000 tons. The SPMT module transporters have been homologated by Scheuerle for road appliance throughout Europe on public roads.
Furthermore, Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik is well-known for its wide-ranging production line of heavy-duty transporters and transporters suitable for industrial in-plant operations, steel mill transporters for pellets, slag pot and ladle carriers, shipyard lift transporters moving pre-faribricated ship sections exceeding single weights of 1,600 tons.
In conjunction with affiliated company Nicolas and its own subsidiary Capperi - as well as in cooperation with Nooteboom - Scheuerle is enabled to meet all requirements in all heavy-duty transport markets.
In his much respected presentation to the EHLG, Mr Hansjorg Nagel, Sales Manager (Export) of Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik GmbH, explained the latest technical developments in construction of heavy duty trailers, platform and module transporters of the South German specialist manufacturer. In combination of several Scheuerle ‘s module transporters a world record has been set up of configurations lifting single pieces of 13,000 tons, while up to 15,000 tons are achievable. More than 60,000 axle lines have been produced by Scheuerle so far of their platform transporter series "Euro Combi" and "Inter Combi".
For the big steel complex of B Steel in Baoshan, Chit Scheuerle recently supplied transporters and another units to a South Korean steel maker. For Alexandria Steel in Egypt Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik built three giant slag transporters. In view of world-wide trade slump the German heavy duty transporter specialist more concentrates on transport market. For high speed heavy lift road transport Scheuerle designed equipment for loads up to 160 tons. For road haulage of pieces of up 300 tons the manufacturing programme includes low-bed, boiler deck and hydraulic girder deck trailers, which even under full load can be extended within the girder deck up to 6m.
